Our Art Curriculum
- Children are given the opportunity, from Foundation to Year 6, to explore the different elements of Art and Design through experiencing: Drawing, Printing, Painting, Collage, Sculpture and Textile.
- We encourage pupils to: develop their creative and imaginative talents, develop different techniques using a variety of materials and tools.
- Children are given the opportunity to: explore the work of different artists, work with our resident artist, Miss Shaw, to enhance their skills.
- Art and Design is a non core subject in the National Curriculum. Activities are planned so that the children build upon their prior learning. Children of all abilities have the opportunity to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding.
- Our aim for Art and Design is to enable children to: record from first – hand experience and from imagination, select their own ideas to use in their work, develop creativity and imagination through a range of activities.
